For the year 2015, total BIR collection amounted to PhP1.43 trillion or 7.38% higher than the 2014 collection of PhP1.33 trillion.

Did you know that the BIR reached its trillion-collection mark in 2012? This happened under the leadership of Commissioner Kim S. Jacinto-Henares when the Bureau was able to collect a total of PhP1.06 trillion.  Meanwhile, the billion-collection mark was reached way back in 1963 under then Commissioner Jose B. Lingad when  a total of PhP1.13 billion was collected.  And finally, did you know that the initial tax collection was only PhP5.20 million in 1905 under then Collector John S. Hord.
